Club Information
Laurelvale F.C. Club Colours The traditional Laurelvale Football Club colours of black and white stripes didn't come about by accident. The kit was hand picked by 'Geordie' Kit Musgrove, a Newcastle United fanatic before leaving his home city to live in Laurelvale. In the mid-1950s he co-managed the first organised soccer team in the village and his suggestion that the club play in Newcastle colours was readily accepted. The other joint boss of the highly successful summer league team was local man Fred Lynas. However, despite the sterling efforts of those two men and following a flying start for soccer in the village, football faded away again in the 1960s. |
